Our Small Craft Safety class is designed for those who work with youth organizations that host outdoor activities. Like our Omaha lifeguard training courses, this class includes information on basic water rescue, but it also covers a variety of topics specific to small craft users, like self-rescue, accident prevention, planning excursions, supervision and emergency preparation and response. Although this class addresses water-based activities, in-water skills sessions are not included in the course. Instead, participants should plan to receive in-person skills training as part of an environment-specific training session with their employer. For more information or to enroll in class, check your local course schedule.
Note: All class participants should be comfortable handling canoes and kayaks.
