Certification and Continuing Education

The American Red Cross certification is recognized across states, federal regulatory agencies, licensing boards, and national associations. Our certification meets requirements for participants in healthcare, education, public safety, childcare, construction, fitness and hundreds of other occupations and professions.

Certification

The American Red Cross makes certification fast, simple and easy. With Red Cross find my certificates functionality, you can access your digital certificate anytime, anywhere. Here you can share, download or print your certificate. Each Red Cross digital certificate has its own unique ID and QR code, making it easy to confirm that your employee’s certificate is valid and authentic.

Red Cross Digital Certificates

The American Red Cross digital certificate is a first of its kind, online certificate that gives you anytime, anywhere access to your certification and training history.

Digital certificates can be viewed, printed or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your Red Cross Account. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code which meets employment requirements and allows employers to easily confirm your certificate is valid. There is no need to carry your printed certificate around anymore!

Access Your Digital Certificate

Class participants and employers can visit Find My Certificate. Follow the simple steps (enter the ID found on the digital certificate, email or scan the QR code) to access a copy of the valid certificate with student training information.

You can also:

• Look for an email once you have successfully completed your class, it will include a link to your digital certificate. Select option to view, print or download your digital certificate.

Participants are also able to order a printed certificate by selecting the add to cart option where a fee will be charged for shipping and handling. On average it will take from 4-10 business days to received. Expedited shipping options available.

Certification Courses

Some employees or states may require certification of skills as a job requirement. For example, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required if you are your workplace’s designated emergency responder. Healthcare employers may require Advanced Life Support (ALS) during the credentialing process. In other cases, Red Cross certification is a way of demonstrating that you are prepared for a wide range of emergencies – in your personal life and activities such as coaching, youth organizations, etc.

Continuing Education

Healthcare Continuing Education

Healthcare professionals who need continuing education (CE) to maintain licensure or professional certification can obtain accredited CE credit through the American Red Cross.

Our new platform enables participants to claim their CAPCE (Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education) continuing education (CE) credits that provide accreditation specifically for EMS professionals. This new platform makes it easy for participants to access CAPCE CE credits instantly, providing a seamless experience from start to finish.

Workplace / Non-healthcare Continuing Education

Employers and employees in the workplace may require non-healthcare continuing education credit units (CEUs) after successful completion of our courses. Red Cross Training Services provides non-healthcare CEUs for the following courses:

• Bloodborne Pathogens Training
• CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers
• Emergency Medical Response
• First Aid
• CPR/AED
• Lifeguarding
• Responding to Emergencies
• Swimming and Water Safety
• Wilderness and Remote First Aid

Once non-healthcare training has been successfully completed, a CEU certificate, along with a course certificate, will be sent to students who provided an email address. Students, who took non-healthcare training through a third-party provider, should contact the provider or instructor to obtain a copy of the CEU certificate. Class participants should verify with their appropriate accrediting organization that non-healthcare CEUs received from taking Red Cross courses will be accepted.
