Red Cross Training in Tennessee
In Tennessee, Red Cross training classes are taught by experts, and include only proven, vetted procedures. All of our programs are based on the latest science, standards and regulations, and are overseen by the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council – a panel of nationally recognized experts from scientific, medical, and academic disciplines. With the Council's guidance, we're able to ensure that Red Cross training in Tennessee, and throughout the country, aligns with the latest evidence-based knowledge in science and medicine, and adheres to relevant industry standards and guidelines.
CPR Training
Each year, more than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur in the United States - and approximately 70 percent of those occur in homes. This means that if you are called on to give CPR in an emergency, you will most likely be trying to save the life of someone you know and love, like a child, spouse, parent or friend. By taking one of our CPR classes in Tennessee, Red Cross experts can help prepare you to provide care during times of crisis - and help you save the life of someone you love. Classes are available in person, online, and via Simulation Learning, which combines online coursework with an in-person skills session. This way, you can get the CPR training you need, in the format that suits you best. Check out the classes available in your area, and earn your Tennessee CPR certification.
The Red Cross offers CPR renewal classes, as well as CPR recertification courses, in Tennessee. These courses allow you to refresh your memory, renew your skills and stay up to date on the latest techniques. Our CPR renewal courses are designed for those whose credentials are still valid but near expiration. These classes are delivered in less time than standard CPR classes, and allow you to maintain certification for an additional two years. If your CPR certification has lapsed, you'll need to register for a full-length CPR class in order to maintain certification. Find a recertification class or a CPR renewal course in Tennessee, and get training you need to maintain your credentials.
BLS Training
Basic Life Support (BLS) training from the American Red Cross is designed specifically for healthcare and public safety professionals. Available in person or via our blended Simulation Learning, which combines online coursework with in-person skills sessions, our BLS classes allow you to learn new techniques and sharpen your skills so you can not only deliver care to those in need, but help improve patient outcomes. Topics include scene safety and assessment, CPR/AED use for adults, children and infants, obstructed airways, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and teamwork, precautions, legal considerations, and more. Learn more about our BLS classes in Tennessee.
For those who have already completed their BLS training, the American Red Cross offers BLS recertification courses that allow you to learn new skills and procedures, refresh your memory and extend your certification by two years. Designed for those whose credentials are still valid (or within 30 days of expiring), our abbreviated BLS renewal courses in Tennessee can help you avoid a lapse in certification so you can stay on the job. If your certification expired more than 30 days ago, you can sign up for one of our standard courses and earn a new BLS certification.

Refresher materials take just a few short minutes to use, but by keeping your memory (and your skills) sharp, they can mean all the difference to someone in need.
Babysitting Training
Although each of our Tennessee babysitting classes delivers a different level of instruction and information, they all focus on providing you with the information you need to become a capable, confident babysitter. Throughout all of our courses you'll learn about subjects like providing care to infants and children, choosing age-appropriate activities, what to do in an emergency, basic first aid, child behavior, and more. Learn more about our babysitter training opportunities and decide whether they're right for you.
Note: None of our babysitting training in Tennessee is intended as certification for state-licensed childcare providers and does not meet all state requirements for such certification.
At the Red Cross, older teens and adults can take babysitter training in Tennessee that's designed just for them. Our Advanced Child Care class is an online course that can help older teens, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends of parents, gain the skills they need to care for children of any age. With information on bottle feeding and diapering, plus safety, child behavior and discipline, and more, you can learn to provide even greater care to the kids in your neighborhood - or help take care of the kids in your own family.
First Aid Training
The American Red Cross offers first aid classes in Tennessee that can help you prepare for the unexpected. Our training includes the latest evidence-based procedures so you can provide care to adults, children, and infants during times of need. Classes include instruction on caring for others during asthma attacks, anaphylaxis, choking, external bleeding, and heart attacks, as well as caring for those with burns, plus a wide range of other emergencies.
Note: Some classes focus only on adult care, so please be aware when scheduling your first aid training in Tennessee.
If you don't need full, OSHA-compliant first aid certification, our online learning courses can help you get the information you need from the comfort of your home. This type of Red Cross training is conducted entirely online and can be taken at your convenience. It covers the same information as our in-person course, including providing care to adults and children suffering from burns, heart attack, external bleeding, and more - but doesn't give you the opportunity to practice your skills in a real-world setting. If hands-on experience is important to you, you may choose to opt for an in-person or blended Simulation Learning course, which combines online learning with an in-person skills session.
