BLS Certification in North Carolina
The Red Cross offers BLS training in North Carolina that's designed to deliver the latest information, and suit your learning style. With in-person and blended Simulation Learning classes, which combine online coursework with an in-person skills session, you can earn your two-year certification your way. All of our courses use a scenario-based approach that allows you to further develop your critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills, which can help drive better patient outcomes. And our course materials are consistent with AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC, and cover breathing and cardiac emergencies, including CPR, AED, and obstructed airway care for adults, children, and infants.
Our North Carolina BLS certification courses allow healthcare and public safety professionals to provide life-saving care to those in need. Our curriculum includes all of the standard scientific learning objectives necessary in professional resuscitation courses, but also encourages you to develop critical thinking and teamwork skills, and work on reflection and debriefing. All of our BLS courses for healthcare providers are modular and flexible, and can be tailored to suit your department's protocols.
In addition to offering BLS training in North Carolina for healthcare providers and first responders, we also offer classes to help you become a certified Red Cross BLS instructor. Not only can this certification allow you to teach BLS classes to your own crews and/or teams, but it allows you to deliver training to others across the state.
Not only can members of your department or organization earn their North Carolina BLS certification through the American Red Cross, but members of your department can also become Red Cross training partners. We'll recognize your current instructor certifications and offer a free instructor bridging, so you can start teaching now. Instructors can teach within their own departments, provide BLS training to other organizations, train community members in First Aid and CPR, and more. Plus, with the support, tools, equipment and materials you need to provide training, we'll be here for you every step of the way.
As a BLS practitioner it's your job to be prepared to respond quickly, and appropriately. In order to do so, you'll need to perform some steps during every incident, and others only an as-needed basis. In order to help keep your memory and your skills fresh after completing your BLS classes in North Carolina, we've outlined some high-level steps that apply to most scenarios, and created reference materials that you can use to study the steps required for specific situations.
Because your certification is only valid for two years, North Carolina BLS training isn't a one-time process. In order to maintain your credentials, certificate holders who are nearing the end of their certification period, or those whose certifications are within 30 days of expiring, must take a BLS renewal course to avoid a lapse in certification. Once successfully completed your BLS certification will be extended by two more years. The Red Cross offers online and in-person renewal courses so you can choose the right class for the way you learn.
Whether you're a firefighter, or a nurse, a police officer, state trooper, or work elsewhere in public safety or healthcare, our North Carolina BLS certification course can help you provide the basic life support services that can make all the difference to someone in need. Find a class near you, and earn a two-year certification in just a few short hours.
