Babysitting Training in New York

The American Red Cross offers babysitting classes in New York that can help you develop the skills needed to take care of children when their parents can't be with them. Designed for those ages 11 and older, our babysitting classes will help you provide appropriate care for infants and children, choose suitable activities, handle certain types of behaviors, understand what to do in an emergency, and learn how to start your own babysitting business.

At the Red Cross we offer two online New York babysitter certification classes: Babysitting Basics, and Advanced Child Care. These courses are delivered entirely online and are designed to help you better care for the infants and children in your charge. These courses allow you to train at your own pace making it easy to become comfortable with the material in each section before moving on to the next.

Among the Red Cross babysitting classes in New York is our Babysitting Basics course. Delivered exclusively online, this 4-hour course is designed for those ages 11 and older who are ready to become babysitters. Throughout the course you'll learn the basics of infant and child care, emergency procedures, choosing activities and other important information.

After successfully completing the course you'll receive a printable certificate that you can show potential employers and use to help build your business. In our online Advanced Child Care classes you'll refine your skills as a babysitter and receive advanced training in leadership, child behavior and discipline, professionalism, safety, child care and more. These babysitting classes in New York are not intended for state-licensed child care providers and do not meet all state requirements for such certification.
