BLS Certification in Topsham
All of our Topsham BLS certification courses allow first responders and medical professionals to learn the latest proven science and techniques, and challenge their critical thinking and problem-solving skills through our scenario-based approach. All of our courses are consistent with AHA Guidelines for CPR/ECC, and cover breathing and cardiac emergencies – including CPR, AED, and obstructed airway for infants, children, and adults.
Throughout the class you'll gain the skills and knowledge necessary for providing care, like CPR, AED, and first aid, and how to help clear obstructed airways for infants, children and adults, but you'll also learn how to work with compassion, how to ensure that the scene is safe for everyone, how to communicate with your teammates and how to solve problems swiftly. During class you'll work alone, but you'll also work in teams, which will allow you to understand what needs to happen and when – all from a variety of perspectives. Of course, you'll have ample time to ask questions and perfect your skills – so you can leave class knowing that you can capably, confidently help when it's needed most. For details on all of the BLS training opportunities available, check our new class schedule.
In Topsham, BLS certification classes from the American Red Cross are available in two formats: in person, and via our blended Simulation Learning experience. In-person classes are held in a traditional classroom setting – with an instructor and classmates, and the hands-on skills session immediately follows. Simulation Learning, however, allows you to receive the same "lecture" material, but in an online environment – so you can spend time with the information and synthesize it in your own way. Once complete, you can schedule your in-person skills session, where you'll learn proper techniques and have the opportunity to prove your skills to a licensed instructor. After successfully completing both sections of the course, you'll receive full certification. For more information or to book your BLS class, check our newest schedule.
At the Red Cross we offer world-class training and science based courses that can help you stay at the forefront of your field. But no student can synthesize the information provided in class without a little effort on their part – which is why we encourage you to engage in practices that can help ensure your success. For instance, when you take notes, and participate in class discussions, information is reinforced. And when you practice your skills with others, you can improve your skills based on what others observe, and you'll have the chance to see how other people perform the same skills – which can help deepen your understanding of the information learned in class. Of course, throughout your BLS training in Topsham, your instructor will be available to answer any questions you may have and can explain concepts in a variety of ways, so don't be shy – it's one of the reasons they're there. Regardless of what you need, we'll do our best to help – and we wish you success in this and all of your future endeavors.
