Red Cross Training in Kentucky
In Kentucky, Red Cross training classes are taught by experts, and include only proven, vetted procedures. All of our programs are based on the latest science, standards and regulations, and are overseen by the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council – a panel of nationally recognized experts from scientific, medical, and academic disciplines. With the Council's guidance, we're able to ensure that Red Cross training in Kentucky, and throughout the country, aligns with the latest evidence-based knowledge in science and medicine, and adheres to relevant industry standards and guidelines.
CPR Training
Red Cross CPR classes can help you deliver life-saving care during a breathing or cardiac emergency. With a variety of techniques covered, including hands-only, traditional CPR (hands and rescue breathing), and rescue breathing only, as well as training on how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants, we'll prepare you to provide care when it's needed most. To earn your certification, check out the adult and pediatric CPR classes available in Kentucky.
Part of keeping our schools safe for everyone includes ensuring that those on campus can provide care when it's needed most. To that end, we offer CPR training in Kentucky that not only delivers important training to educators, administrators and other school staff, but allows those who undergo our training to become instructors who can help other faculty members and students earn their own CPR certification. BLS Training
At the Red Cross, BLS classes in Kentucky are available to healthcare workers and public safety professionals. These classes can be taken in two ways: In person or via our blended Simulation Learning. In person BLS training takes place entirely in person, with classmates and an instructor. This type of class provides you with ample time to explore topics, ask questions and learn all of the care techniques addressed in class. For those who choose Simulation Learning, the same information will be taught in an online environment, but interactive discussion won't be possible. Once the "lecture" portion of the class is complete, you'll join an in-person skill session where you'll demonstrate your BLS skills to a certified instructor. Both courses, once complete, result in full certification.
For those who have already completed their BLS training, the American Red Cross offers BLS recertification courses that allow you to learn new skills and procedures, refresh your memory and extend your certification by two years. Designed for those whose credentials are still valid (or within 30 days of expiring), our abbreviated BLS renewal courses in Kentucky can help you avoid a lapse in certification so you can stay on the job. If your certification expired more than 30 days ago, you can sign up for one of our standard courses and earn a new BLS certification.
AED Training
An AED is the only effective treatment for restoring a regular heart rhythm after a cardiac arrest. Unfortunately, the average response time for first responders once 911 is called is 8 to 12 minutes - and for each minute defibrillation is delayed, the chance of surviving sudden cardiac arrest reduces by approximately 10%. However, with AED classes in Kentucky from the American Red Cross, you can learn how to help during times of crisis, and provide critical assistance when it's needed most. Sign up for AED training, and gain the skills needed to help save a life.
Whether you need full, OSHA-compliant certification or simply want to gain the skills and confidence necessary to help save a life, we offer a variety of Kentucky AED classes that can help you get the training you need. With courses available during the day, evening, and on weekends, and available online, in person, or via our blended Simulation Learning experience, which combines online coursework with an in-person skills session, you can earn your Kentucky AED certification, and learn how to provide critical care during sudden cardiac arrest.
First Aid Training
At the Red Cross, first aid training in Kentucky is available in three ways – online, in-person, and via our Simulation Learning experience, which combines online coursework with in-person skills sessions. This way, you can learn your way – and take classes that suit your schedule. If you need an OSHA-compliant certification, only in-person and Simulation Learning courses satisfy OSHA requirements. However, if full-certification isn't required by your job or a volunteer organization, online-only courses may suit your needs. By empowering you to provide care for infants, children and adults, you can truly be prepared to help – no matter who needs your assistance. That's why, in Kentucky, pediatric first aid is included along with our adult care instructions. After all, small bodies with developing bones and organs do tend to be more delicate than those of adults, so precautions and/or actions will, and should, vary based on the age of the person who needs your assistance.
