First Aid Training in California
The American Red Cross provides first aid training in California and across the country. All of our courses are developed under the guidance of, and reviewed by, the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council. Designed to deliver the latest science and best practices available, our first aid classes empower you to provide the most effective care possible during times of crisis.
In order to become fully certified in first aid by the American Red Cross, you must successfully complete an in-person class or Simulation Learning course taught by Red Cross instructors. In California, first aid training opportunities are available in dozens of convenient locations throughout the state, making it easy to find a class that's near your home, school or office. Courses are also available in an online-only format, however they may not meet your employer's requirements for workplace safety.
Once you complete your California first aid certification classes, your credentials will be valid for two years. In order to maintain your certification beyond the two-year period, we offer abbreviated first aid renewal classes that allow you to stay up to date on the latest techniques. These classes should be taken within 30 days of your certification's expiration date, and will extend the life of your credentials by two additional years.
In California, first aid training for adults focuses on how you can best provide care to the adults, including teens, in your life. From cuts and burns to falls, broken bones and a myriad of other injuries, our courses cover it all so that you can gain the confidence, and skills, needed to help during times of crisis.
Because children and babies have more delicate bodies and require specialized care, we offer first aid classes in California that focus specifically on providing care to the youngest among us. With detailed instruction on caring for conscious and unconscious children, and information on helping kids who have been injured in a variety of ways, we can give you the skills and confidence needed to provide care until trained medical professionals arrive.
The American Red Cross not only delivers first aid training in California, but we also provide training to individuals and organizations in every state and more than 180 countries around the world. The training materials for our classes are developed experts in the field and are based on the latest and best in emergency science. In addition, all course materials and protocols are reviewed by the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council and are updated as new, proven information becomes available.
